Fru Patience Ndeusse, from BRIGHT scholar to software engineer

In her own words, the journey of one of BRIGHT's first scholars.

In July 2020, during the long vacation after Form 4, I became a scholar with the Bright Association, founded by Madam Liliane Uwase. That space opened up a world far larger than the one I knew. I picked up a lawn tennis racket for the first time. I learned to capture life through a camera lens with Lens on Life, in the first batch of their programme. I took Peace Building in My Community with Amala Education. Being surrounded by brilliant, different minds taught me how to dream bigger.

In 2021, right after her Ordinary Levels, she joined Youth Inspiration. Then came Lower Sixth, when challenges could have derailed everything: Madam Constance Ejuma, of the Essungue Ejuma Foundation, granted her a full scholarship through BRIGHT. That was more than school fees: it was someone betting on me.

Software Engineering at Yaoundé International Business School followed. Today Fru Patience holds a Bachelor of Technology in Software Engineering. Next: to innovate as an automotive software engineer, and to give back to the community that carried her.

To the Bright Association, Lens on Life, Youth Inspiration, and Madam Constance Ejuma: thank you for believing in me. My journey is just beginning.
