From 28 April to 2 May 2025, BRIGHT took part in a five-day workshop to strengthen refugee women's leadership and to shape ARWNET's collective advocacy direction.

Sessions covered leadership and self-advocacy, legal and policy frameworks, advocacy in conflict settings, digital communication, dignified storytelling and systems change. Members selected five collective priorities:

  • recognition of refugee women as leaders;
  • access to menstrual and maternal health products and services;
  • protection and psychosocial support;
  • harmonisation of refugee documentation;
  • stronger legal protections for refugee women.

The inclusion of women and girls with disabilities was emphasised throughout.
