Her Power: the Women RLO Leaders' Convening in Kampala
The Women RLO Leaders' Convening, with refugee women-led organisations from across Africa.
From 13 to 16 July 2025, Liliane Uwase represented BRIGHT at the Women RLO Leaders' Convening, hosted by the World University Service of Canada (WUSC), Authentic African Works and the Mastercard Foundation.
The programme focused on confident public speaking and storytelling, market opportunities, donor relationships and funding diversification. Community visits included the Refugee Mental Health Network: a reminder of the importance of emotional well-being alongside education and economic inclusion.
For BRIGHT, the convening reinforced the value of placing refugee women's experience at the centre of programme design.
