An information session with the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences

An information and training session with the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS).

The goal was simple but powerful: make sure that forcibly displaced youth and the local community know about, and can access, world-class postgraduate opportunities in mathematical sciences, data science, climate science and more.

Twelve participants, university students, refugee youth and recent graduates, learned about AIMS' fully funded master's programmes across Cameroon, Ghana, Rwanda, Senegal and South Africa, with full scholarships covering tuition, accommodation, meals, health insurance and travel.

What stood out most: AIMS has committed to ensuring that at least 10% of applications and selections come from refugee communities. This is what meaningful inclusion looks like.

At BRIGHT, we believe that a person's displacement status should never define the limits of their potential.
