BRIGHT Education

From primary school to university.

Education is where BRIGHT began. We help young refugees and internally displaced young people go back to school, stay there, and reach university, with a refugee-led team mentoring them all the way.

What we have done

Our activities.

  1. Our first certificates

After four months of Peace Building in Your Community with Amala, our first students, internally displaced young people, receive their certificates in Yaoundé.

  2. The Back to School campaign

Funds raised so that internally displaced young people can return to school, in evening classes at Saint-Benoît Catholic College.

  3. Mathematics support

Local teachers give mathematics lessons to displaced young people, to prepare them for continued schooling.

  4. Ten out of ten

All ten Back to School scholarship recipients who sat the Ordinary Level examination passed.

  5. A partnership with the Duolingo English Test

Our students can sit the test at no cost: fifteen did so in 2024.

  6. A visit from our university partners

Carnegie Mellon University Africa and USIU-Africa present their scholarships and discuss student mobility with our students.

  7. An information session with AIMS

The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences presents its fully funded master's programmes.
